ABOUT Mazen Naga

Professor emeritus Mazen Ibrahim Naga ,born in Egypt 26-9 1949, graduated from Kasr El Eini school of Medicine Cairo University 1973, accomplished the MSc and MD degrees in Internal Medicine from the same faculty 1977 and 1983 respectively.

He started his practice in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy 1977 under the supervision of his mentor the late professor Abd El-Fattah El- Fiki.

He then received training in interventional endoscopy with professor L.Safrani in Reinhard Nieter Krankenhaus in Wilhelmshaven, now called Wilhelmshaven Klinikum for two months, this was followed by training in Hamburg in UniversitatsKranekenhaus Eppendorf,now called UniversitatsKlinikum Eppendorf (UKE) with professor Nib Soehendra a true landmark in his career who substantially added to his experience; he paid further visits to the same center in 1985, 1988, 1990, 1993 to upgrade an refine his skills in interventional endoscopy.

He considers professor Abd El-Fattah El-Fiki and professor Soehendra as the most important landmarks in his career.
